A lot of people, in most parts of
the world, are tuned in to the NBA Finals; Spurs Vs Heat. What’s the fuzz all
about? Yeah I get it; it’s just the top 2 teams of the NBA banging each other.
NBA Finals without the New York
Knicks or the LA Lakers is simply BORING! That’s my opinion anyway.
Yes there is excitement and glory
for the players but, unlike when the (used to be) mighty Knicks dominated the
courts; there was so much pride in the City. Similar to Los Angeles I suppose.
Media just hyped the finals to stimulate interest to all basketball fans,
foreign or local.
I am not saying that the series
between Spurs and Heat must not be appreciated. I am simply verbalizing my
point of view. If it’s not Knicks or Kobe on the court, then it’s just an
ordinary ball game.
Then what about Lebron? Again,
let me express my opinion here okay? Lebron is great. He is legendary. King
James is the successor of Michael Jordan. True! No doubt about that. But, see
beyond his skills as a ball player, Lebron is just playing for the love of
money that NBA brings to him.
Back in the day when Patrick
Ewing brought his team to the Championships, it was a victory for all Noo
Yokerz. So much pride within the city that one thinks NYC was already a country
of its own. People saw how the New York Knicks played for the people of New
York.
That’s how it is supposed to be,
pride for the state. When an NBA team
plays in the finals the moment belongs to the people of the state the team
represents.
Similar to a Pacquiao fight,
criminality halts in the Philippines as the people enjoy the momentous pride
Manny Pacquaio brings to them. Good people along with unsuspecting thieves sit
with each other as they watch a Pacman fight inside a sports bar or any place
that shows his boxing matches.
To the fans of San Antonio and
Miami, I don’t intend to dis. I am simply expressing my views. I am a big NYK
fan. Hope you understand my predisposition. To the current NBA finals hooray to
the team who wins and better luck next time for the losing squad.
